2023 OLIVENHAIN "KIDS" CROSS COUNTRY INVITE
The Olivenhain Cross Country Invitational invites kids of all ages to participate in the sport of cross-country running. Running is a healthy life-long activity and San Diego enjoys a long tradition of excellence at the elementary through professional levels and this event is meant to inspire the next generation. LOCATION: The races are run entirely on the grounds of the historic Olivenhain Meeting Hall on Rancho Santa Fe Road. - 423 Rancho Santa Fe Rd, Encinitas, CA 92024 [See Map]
COST: Entries are $16 per person in advance or $20 on race day. We accept cash, check, or major credit cards on race day.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course is a USATF Sanctioned, and fully-chuted 500 meter loop. All races are run entirely on the Meeting House grounds. The terrain is slightly hilly with a combination of wood chips and hard-packed dirt. There is no pavement or concrete. Regular sneakers are recommended. The course is shaped like the letter “C”, so family members will have several opportunities to see their kids running. Please do not cross the barrier tape at any time.
The youngest kids will run 1 loop, while each age group after will run additional loops. (see event schedule) -- Feel free to borrow one of our 50 cow bells and head down to “Cow Bell Corner” to cheer – the kids love it!
PARKING: Parking is available at the Meeting Hall. Additional parking is available on neighborhood streets. Rancho Santa Fe is a busy road - use extreme caution and only cross at the pedestrian crosswalk/stop sign.
REGISTRATION: Please visit our Registration page. A parent’s signature is required for each participant. Participants will be required to sign a USATF waiver on race day. Online registration will be available up to and throughout the event. This is a USA Track & Field sanctioned and insured event.
BIBS/NUMBERS: All runners must wear their event number on the front of their shirt or shorts. These numbers will be required to get each runner's time.
AWARDS: Awards are announced approximately every 45 minutes between age groups. This year, every runner receives a medal. The top 10 finishers from each race will win special prizes at the awards ceremony. Top 5 finishers will win special medals. Additionally, we'll have a family raffle at each award ceremony where kids, adults, and families can win prizes. Randomly selected Adult Fun Run runners will be eligible to win various prizes from our post run raffle.
RAFFLES: Every awards ceremony will be accompanied by a raffle with prizes for kids and families like dinner at local restaurants, gift certificates, and more! Every entry in the event is eligible to win, and extra tickets will be available for donation.
RESULTS: Results will be posted near the community circle approximately 10 minutes after each race and available on-line at the close of the event.
FACILITIES: Porta-potties will be available. Trained First Responders are scheduled for the event. In the case of any emergency, please call 911 immediately. (call 9-1-1).
